EdgeBroker

Scalability. Security. Simplicity.
EdgeBroker was designed by a team with over 25 years experience in complex SCADA collection in upstream and midstream environments to solve problems that have plagued remotely deployed SCADA systems.

EdgeBroker Pluggable Integrations:

  1. Modbus Serial
  2. Modbus TCP
  3. Modbus over TCP
  4. SNMP
  5. Others

Optimize Field Performance and Increase Productivity

EdgeBroker is an embedded field, deployed system built using the latest standards and open source technologies. EdgeBroker is designed to be modular, collecting and storing data within a SCADA network with rapid third party expansion to any number of protocols and devices that exist today and even those that will in the future.

Get Connected

Aggregate data allows a much smaller data footprint while providing all the necessary information to manage your remotely deployed devices. EdgeBroker can be disconnected and still collect data and store it on site for up to three years. All data from any recorded time frame can be requested and retrieved through the cloud.

Secure Your Field

EdgeBroker is secure for a simple reason: we don’t allow public access. All requests are queued through the cloud, and only the EdgeBroker in the field can approve. This allows for two things that greatly enhance security for every remotely deployed field device: the remote location is walled off from the public, and the cloud acts as an application proxy to the field, ensuring who and what is allowed.

Secure Your Data

EdgeStack utilizes the concept of Data Claims to govern who and what can be accessed. Since EdgeStack retains all collected data for a period of time, anyone that has access to the data can retrieve it immediately, nightly, weekly, etc. This provides your company the ability to give access to other groups, contractors, companies, etc. to the data without “poking holes” in your data center. Claims on data have an open and close date, so that access can be provided for a limited time. Data is protected at all stages including storage, transmission, and access.

EdgeServer

EdgeServer software acts to control access to the remotely deployed set of EdgeBrokers and the collected field device data. EdgeBrokers locate and communicate with the EdgeServers to easily handle commissioning of new locations, report site health, report collected data, and learn about what to do at remote location.

Additionally, EdgeServers govern access to the data collected. The software features an open RESTful API that encourages rapid, easy development and integration to collected data. Its openness gives your organization access to field devices, utilizing well-known internet technologies. This opens up a world of remotely connected devices in minutes. We have provided two reference implementations with full documentation; a thin web client and a thick, Java-based client.

EdgeGateway

EdgeGateway proxies access to the EdgeStack platform using traditional SCADA technologies. For example, we currently have a Java library and an OPC/DA gateway. Additional EdgeGateways that we have planned include OPC/UA, Cygnet, MQTT, .NET Library, Python Library.

Through the use of an EdgeGateway, the security and scalability of the EdgeStack platform is gained using traditional field automation technologies.

Our implementation of gateways provides your organization additional security as well. For example, OPC/DA server implementations are not secure, but when the OPC/DA EdgeGateway is deployed on premise, behind your firewall, it is secure.

EdgeCloud

EdgeCloud is the entire platform deployment within the EdgeStack AWS environment. Our cloud provides your organization the speed, security and robustness needed to successfully implement an IIoT platform within minutes.

EdgeHistorian

EdgeHistorian is a permanent endpoint for the collected data with access provided to your organization only. The historian is clustered and partitioned for fast retrieval of data.
